Exploring Scena and surroundings

Villa Alvarium is located above Merano in the sunny village of Scena. With just two holiday apartments in our house, our guests soon feel like it is home from home. Rest and relaxation are guaranteed.

The center of Scena is within walking distance (800 – 1000m). There you can find shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours, bars and also a bike rental shop. The modern lido is also 5 minutes away and has a pizzeria, a restaurant and tennis courts.

A bus connection brings you to the centre of Merano in just 10 minutes. Merano has a lot to offer -  the modern thermal baths, the Kurhaus with various festivals and concerts, numerous markets selling typical products, the wonderful promenades where you can go for a relaxing walk and the famous botanical garden of Trauttmansdorff.

Numerous hiking tracks for professionals and walkers surround Scena, the „Tschöggelberg“ and the nature park „Texel“. Different cable cars bring you to hiking areas such as Merano 2000, the Hirzer, the Taser Alm and San Vigilio. Merano2000 is the closest local recreation area and it is a paradise for hikers in summer and for skiers and walkers in winter. There are even more skiing areas within one driving hour, such as the Schwemmalm in Val d’Ultimo, the glacier in Val Senales and the skiing area Obereggen in Val d’Ega.

During spring and autumn our guests enjoy a ride on the beautiful cycle paths which cross the whole country. The tracks from Merano to Bolzano and from Malles to Merano are very family-friendly. For professional mountain bikers there are numerous challenging (and legal) paths in the hiking areas.

Also golfers will be very excited. In Lana, a small village just 10minutes far away, there is a charming golf course in the middle of the apple trees. The course in Val Passiria is more appropriated for experts, as the area is very steep.
